Playas del Coco is one of the most easily accessible beach areas in Guanacaste. It is 22 miles west of Liberia with good road connections.
Its name is derived from the cocoa-colored sand that lies between its two rocky headlands.
Many choose to visit Coco because it is close to the Liberia Airport and a short drive from dozens of beaches. Many expats even walk to Ocotal.
